Risdon Group, the award winning developers of Risdon on 5th residences, has relocated three historic cottages from the Rosemary District to Bayou Oaks. The cottages are to be restored and made ready for residential use in the future.
The history of the cottages date back to the late 1800s. The Rosemary District was then known as Overtown, a part of the original Town of Sarasota. The neighborhood is now known for its historic churches, homes and Sarasota’s first built cemetery.
According to developer Steve Bradley, “Moving the cottages allow us to be conscious of both history and growth while moving forward in the Rosemary District.”
Bayou Oaks is located just north of the Rosemary District. The neighborhood’s rich history and an abundance of charming Oak Trees, make it a fitting new home for the cottages.
